6 Route Pozo Pígalo

Legend says... that along the river Arba de Luesia there was a time when there were 5 flour mills. You can still visit the remains of one of them next to Pozo Pígalo, the starting point of this hike where we will penetrate into the Fayanás mountain and Huértalo forest. This was allegedly a crossing point between the Pyrenees and the plain where many confrontations between merchants, smugglers, and gendarmes took place

This Trail of Legend offers you a hike with 10 stops along the way to enjoy interesting stories related to each specific spot. To follow the route and identify the stops you need to DOWNLOAD the TRACK and the FACT SHEET from the DOWNLOADS section of each stage or route.

The route (partially unmarked) starts in the car park of Pozo Pígalo, it crosses the river Arba de Luesia, and soon follows a trail into the forest of Huértalo to go up and then down again to the river. It then continues along the left bank of the river, following the GR-1 until you reach the waterfall in Pozo Pígalo again.

We strongly recommend taking this route with our nature guide, Jose Antonio de Sendynat, owner of Casa Balana. Water and provisioning in Luesia (we recommend Bar Restaurante Puy Moné and Camping Pozo Pígalo in the summer).
